NOTE: the ‘unworked’ st behind the leaves st you just made. For the next st, make sure to skip this one since we technically already have a st there (the leaves st)

Make one dc in each of the next 3 sts. [Work one leaves st in the next st, sk the unworked st behind the leaves st, work 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts]. Repeat from [ to ] across, ending with 4 dc in each of the last 4 sts. Ch 1, turn. (18 leaves sts, 67 dc)

Making the Tassels

(make 4)

How to make the tassels:

*I’m sure there is a more ‘official’ way to make these but this is my silly way of doing this LOL

Step 1: Find an object that is approximately 6″ long – I used my iPhone.

Step 2: Start by tying a piece of yarn (make this longer than you think you need it to be) around the width of the phone.

Step 3: Wrap the yarn around the object until the tassel is your desired thickness. I wrapped mine a total of 75 times.

Step 4: Untie the piece of yarn you tied in Step 2 and then pull one side of that piece of yarn out to the other side.

Step 5: Pull that piece of yarn up and tie it in a knot.

Step 6: Slide all of the yarn off the phone and cut through the loop on the end opposite of the end that you tied.

Step 7: Gather the tassel together and tie a piece of yarn around the whole thing to form a ‘head’.

Step 8: Trim the ends and attach the tassel to your blanket. After tying your tassel on, use a crochet hook to pull the ends down through the tassel as part of the ‘fringe’.
