  • ch = chain
  • st/sts = stitch/stitches
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • dc = double crochet
  • FPdc = Front Post double crochet
  • dc dec = double crochet decrease
  • FPdc/dc dec = Front Post double crochet and double crochet decrease

Single Crochet Decrease (sc dec)

Insert hook in next st, yo and pull up loop, insert hook in next st, yo pull up loop, yo, pull through all 3 loops.

Yo 2 times, insert hook through skipped st 1 row below and back, bringing hook back to the front of your work, yo, pull up loop, [yo, pull through 2 loops] 2 times, yo 2 times, insert hook from front to back to front in next skipped sc below, yo, pull up loop, [yo, pull through 2 loops] 2 times, yo, pull through all 3 loops.

Make magic circle. Ch 2.

Round 1: work 12 dc in circle, join with sl st to first st, ch 2. (12 dc)

Round 2: work 2 dc in each st around, join with sl st to first st, ch 2. (24 dc)

Round 3: work 2 dc in first st, 1 dc in next , [2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st], repeat from [ to ] around, join with sl st to first st, ch 2. (36 dc)

Round 4: work 1 sc in first 3 sts, ch 1, sk 1 st, [work 1 sc in each of next 3 sts, ch 1, sk 1 st], repeat from [ to ] around, join with sl st to first st, ch 2. (27 sc, 9 ch-1 sps)

Round 5: work 1 dc in first 3 sts, 1 dc in ch-1 sp, [work 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, 1 dc in ch-1 sp], repeat from [ to ] around, join with sl st to first st, ch 21 (36 dc)

Round 6: work 1 sc in first st, [work arrow st, sk st behind arrow st just made, work 1 sc in next st, ch 1, sk 1 st, sc in next st], repeat from [ to ] around to last arrow st, work last arrow st in last arrow st made and first arrow st of round, sk st behind arrow st just made, work 1 sc in next st, ch 1, sk 1 st, sc in next st, join with sl st to first st, ch 2. (9 arrow sts, 9 ch-1 sps, 18 sc)

Round 7: work 1 dc in each st and sp around, join with sl st to first st, ch 1. (36 dc)

Round 8: repeat Round 6.

Round 9: repeat Round 7.

Round 10: work sc dec around, insert bauble into cover, join with sl st to first st, ch 1. (18 sc)

Round 11: work sc dec around, join with sl st to first st. (9 sc)
