Crochet Beer Cozy Pattern

I honestly don’t remember what gave me the idea to create a crochet beer cozy with a strap as a hands-free option. But when I showed the internet what I had come up with, everyone went crazy and I was backed up for MONTHS with orders to fulfill for people.

This little crochet beer cozy is actually one of my favorite things to make. I love that they work up so quickly, they are great stash busters and they’re useful and cute! For me, they check all the boxes.

What types of drink fit in the crochet beer cozy?

First of all, I did include options for both slim cans (think Red Bull size) and standard-size cans (think soda can size).

I did try a standard 12oz. beer bottle and that fit nicely as well! It was a little snug – so if you’re wanting your crochet beer cozy to fit a bottle instead of a can, you may want to crochet a tad looser or just go up a hook size.

Lastly, I also tested this with a standard 16oz water bottle, and again – it fit just fine! Just as with the beer bottle, it was a bit snug. But as long as I adjusted my crochet tension it fit perfectly.
