How to Change Colors in Crochet:
Changing colors in crochet is easier than it seems! Follow these simple steps to transition seamlessly to a new yarn color:
- Stop Before the Last Pull-Through
- When you’re working your last stitch in the current color, stop just before completing the final pull-through.
- Bring in the New Color
- Take the new yarn color, leaving a short tail, and place it over your hook.
- Pull the new color through the loops on your hook to complete the stitch.
- Secure the Yarn
- Gently tug both the old and new yarn tails to secure the transition.
- Continue crocheting with the new color as if nothing changed!
You will carry the unused color along the back of your work and drop it at the color change point and pick it up again when needed.
