About the Crochet Sugar Plum Square

The Sugar Plum Square is worked from the center out, building gentle layers of puff stitches that give it such a soft, classic look. It’s an easy project and a great way to use up bits of yarn in your favorite holiday colors. You can even make a few for a pillow cover or join them all into a blanket. Either way, this square adds that perfect cozy and festive touch to your décor.

Sugar Plum Square A Very Cottage Christmas

Part of A Very Cottage Christmas

This pattern is part of A Very Cottage Christmas, a fun Christmas crochet event I’m hosting with my friend Debbie of MadameStitch. Together, we’ve designed six cozy, cottage-inspired granny squares and strung them together to create a crochet Christmas garland.

And if this is your first time hearing about the event, no worries! Just head over to the main event page to catch up on all the details and see how it works. A new square is released every other day from December 1–12, so by the end, you’ll have a full set of beautifully coordinating squares ready to string together into your own “very cottage” garland.

Want All 6 Patterns (Plus 4 Exclusives)?

If you’d like to have all the patterns together in one place, you can grab the A Very Cottage Christmas Ebook. It includes all six squares from the event (three designed by me, three by Debbie) plus four exclusive designs (two from each of us) that aren’t available anywhere else. With ten squares total, it gives you even more variety for blankets, pillows, or other cozy holiday projects — the perfect bundle for festive crocheting this season.
